{"id":1013,"date":"2018-05-11T09:36:09","date_gmt":"2018-05-11T08:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nickpricecreatives.com\/websitedesign\/?p=1013"},"modified":"2020-07-08T09:30:13","modified_gmt":"2020-07-08T08:30:13","slug":"coventry-committee-peace-reconciliation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nickpricecreatives.com\/websitedesign\/coventry-committee-peace-reconciliation\/","title":{"rendered":"Coventry Committee for Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We recently submitted a logo for Coventry Lord Mayor\u2019s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation competition. <!--more-->Our logo featured a great deal of symbolism; the Dove is the universal symbol of peace and there were cues for Coventry itself with the Cathedral, Elephant and Sky Blue in the coloured version. We slightly distressed the grey version instead of the hard line used on the sky blue version, because peace and reconciliation isn&#8217;t always a smooth path.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s what was said:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cWe had 24 submissions and every one of them showed thoughtful insight into searching for a symbol that represents peace within our city. Picking the winner was therefore extremely difficult, and <strong>your design was included in the shortlist<\/strong>\u201c<br \/>\n<strong>Philip Brown.<\/strong> Chair of Coventry Lord Mayor&#8217;s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1015\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nickpricecreatives.com\/websitedesign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/coventrycityofpeacelogo.jpg\" alt=\"coventry city of peace logo\" width=\"940\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nickpricecreatives.com\/websitedesign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/coventrycityofpeacelogo.jpg 940w, https:\/\/www.nickpricecreatives.com\/websitedesign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/coventrycityofpeacelogo-300x60.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nickpricecreatives.com\/websitedesign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/coventrycityofpeacelogo-768x154.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><em>(Above) The winning entry<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Official announcement:<\/strong><br \/>\nYesterday Coventry Lord Mayor\u2019s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation announced that after careful consideration the image designed by Coventry artist Andrea Mbarushimana has been selected from 24 entries to win the competition to design a logo for the Committee. The new logo will be placed on all of the Lord Mayor\u2019s Peace Committee documents and websites.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Lord Mayor\u2019s Committee has never had a logo before,\u201d said Chair of the Lord Mayor\u2019s Committee Philip Brown, \u201cand we decided that it will help us to raise the profile of the excellent work that the Committee is already doing and the exciting new innovations that we are planning with our partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The competition attracted entries from people ranging from 8 year old Ria Mann to several designed by professional designers such as Nick Price Creatives and Jack Fayter. \u201cThe competition was very strong and selecting the winner was extremely difficult,\u201d said Committee Communications Manager Neslihan Ozfaris. \u201cWe were delighted with the quality of these entries and thank all those who took the trouble to submit their design.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the end the winner was Andrea Mbarushimana.
